Project Management
Protecting Your Project from Design to Completion - A successful building project depends on more than a good design. It requires careful planning, clear communication and effective coordination to ensure that the work is delivered to the required quality while keeping control of time and cost. Professional project management provides the structure and oversight needed to turn approved designs into a successful completed building.
I can guide your project through procurement, contractor selection and construction, acting as an experienced point of contact between you, the contractor, specialist consultants and other members of the project team. This coordinated approach helps everyone understand their responsibilities, keeps decisions moving and reduces the risk of misunderstandings, delays and avoidable expense.
Before construction begins, I can help prepare the information required for contractors to price the work accurately. I can assist with the tendering process, compare submissions and advise you when selecting a suitable contractor. Establishing a clear scope of work, realistic programme and appropriate building contract creates a stronger foundation for the project and gives you greater certainty before committing to construction.
During the building work, I can monitor progress, attend site meetings and review the work against the drawings and specification. I will help respond to technical queries, assess proposed changes and address issues before they become more difficult or costly to resolve. Where contract administration is included, I can also review valuations, certify payments and manage variations and completion procedures in accordance with the building contract.
Changes can occur on any construction project. The important question is how they are managed. I will explain the implications clearly, help you make informed decisions and maintain accurate records so that changes to the design, cost or programme are understood and agreed.
As the work approaches completion, I can assist with inspections, identify outstanding items and coordinate the information required for handover. This helps ensure that the finished project reflects the agreed design and that any remaining matters are addressed appropriately.
With over 35 years of experience in architectural design and construction, I understand both the creative vision and the practical realities of delivering a building project. My aim is to protect your interests, maintain quality and provide clear, dependable guidance throughout the construction process—giving you greater confidence and peace of mind from start to finish.
